    Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Before draining, reserve about 1 cup of the starchy pasta water. Drain the pasta and set aside.

    While the pasta cooks, prepare the asparagus. Trim off the woody ends and cut the stalks into 1-inch pieces. Mince the garlic cloves. Zest the lemon, then halve it and squeeze out the juice.

    In a large skillet or deep pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the 'nduja and minced garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 2-3 minutes until the 'nduja has melted and the garlic is fragrant.
